PCA adds 5 additional stories to the Loving Concern Education Centre Building, This is our proudest achievement to date! PCA also establishes the first medical clinic in the slum in conjunction with East Africa premier Gertrude's children Hospital. The hospital now serves approximately 900 patients a month.
PCA Purchases The Loving Concern Education Centre. At this time the building’s construction is incomplete at one and half storey.
The single mothers sewing program begins. Single Moms make clutch bags out of cement bags that we used to build the school. The women made children dresses and uniforms as well. We raised funds for computers and collected the cameras to give to children so they could document their daily lives.
2004 - 2006
Mathare Stitches Founded. Single Women’s Sewing Group. They make sanitary napkins are given to girls who attend school and they are marketed to other women in Mathare through a small shop at MCEDO
PCA starts working with the Canada-Mathare Education Trust The school is registered with the Association of Non-Formal Schools, and begin to receive the cirriculum distributed by the Ministry of Education.
1995 - 2000
PCA is introducted to the school Principal of a primary school in Pangami, located on the edge of Mathare. Suan starts providing food to the school and assists in paying their rent.
1993 / 1994
Cross works in rehab centre Chromo Clinic. With the International Women's Lawyers in Kenya she conducts AIDS workshops with Kenya Pipeline Workers, WOFAK, Women Living With AIDS
